Perhaps he was trying to get the VCR to play through the computer. Or he thought he saw his brain inside the monitor. Anyway, the screen is so snug around his neck because he was trying to pull his head back out (like pulling an arrow out the entrance wound). Maybe he didn’t have his (flaming) hammer for venting his frustration, so he used his head instead. Perhaps he was trying to get the VCR to play through the computer.
