Deaf people can’t hear. Blind people can’t see. But what do they call it when you can’t feel pain…I know it’s a real medical disorder…I think Biff has it.
Seems like people with CIPA would do well in law enforcement or military… It would suck to have it though. You wouldn’t realize you had your hand on a hot plate unless someone told you so.
It’s also possible to not really be aware of pain even without CIPA. I should know; I live in a state of chronic pain that I’ve adapted to by literally tuning out anything below a certain threshold. I’ll have people tell me I’m bleeding, and have to wonder when *that* happened, or get up at night to take some painkillers just because I can’t get to sleep because something’s hurting but it’s too ‘low’ to be consciously aware of the pain. It’s survivable, but not very fun sometimes.
I think I have CIPA… the other day I was walking around barefoot and stepped on a piece of glass that sliced clean through my foot. I didn’t notice until someone pointed it out to me. I had an “oh really?” kind of reaction then pulled it out and went about my day.
If he has CIPA, He would probably be dead. But, I think it’s unlikely. More likely, he gets hurt so much on a daily basis that he just doesn’t notice when he’s in pain.

almost all people with CIPA die before theyre 25, and a large number dont make it past 3. It’s kinda unlikely Biff has it.

*looks pointedly at you*
Cochlear is derived from the latin word for spoon…
for example. Te odeo, interfice te cochleare.
Translation: I hate you, go kill yourself with a spoon =P

I can think of worse things to do with a spoon.

Moriarty Matherson Says: Cochlear is derived from the Latin word for spoon…
I had heard Cochlea was the Latin word for snail. Cochlear is a grammatically logical form of the same word.
