#167 – Vacation
If you see some strange stuff happening in the next 24 hours it’s because I’m moving Biff to a new server. The first 10 days of this month have maxed out the bandwidth of the old server. So during the next day some of the comments may end up on the old server and seem to disappear when you start connecting to the new one. After I shut down the old account I’ll move over any stragglers so that everything is here with the new stuff.

A wonderful way to travel, provided you’ve got air. I’m sure not many will mind being on a new server.

now that’s odd. only 2 days ago i had a conversation with a friend about whether her boyfriend was getting delivered by UPS and them loosing his luggage and delivering the box upside down and slightly battered despite “this way up” and “fragile” stickers. the only serious problem with this form of travel is if there is no one home at the address you post yourself to then you get taken back to the depot and can’t get picked up until the weekend because they are open at ridiculous times.

The new location seems to transfer noticably more slowly, but whatev. Probably just the move. I doubt anyone will really care (your comic is definitely worth waiting for, imho).
Haha, great concept. I love his expressions… I think I may have said that already.

By the way, Chris, you talked about a caption contest, what about a shirt design contest? The crow-again shirt idea was awesome.
January 12th, 2007 at 10:10 am
That’s interesting, for me the site now loads a lot faster. Perhaps it depends where on the interweb you are connecting compared to where the new server is. I guess the new one is closer to me and farther from you. :p
January 12th, 2007 at 10:25 am
Yeah I’ll be doing some contests eventually. There are some other projects for Biff I have to finish first.
January 12th, 2007 at 10:27 am
Ive always wanted to try that.
Site seems to be going faster for me though. Its great, i can get my fix of Biff a lot faster when i need it.

Good, we have 1 vote slower and 2 votes faster.
January 12th, 2007 at 10:50 am
Woo majority vote wins. So we all agree it goes faster. But…this isnt a democracy. Chris is the Dictator. LONG LIVE CHRIS. LONG LIVE THE BIFFiet UNION.

In regards ta the “Server Move” message:
That’s what ya get fer advertisin’ with Bob & George!
January 12th, 2007 at 7:23 pm
I used to try to do that when I was little. Nobody put me by the mailbox though…and I still want to do it.
January 13th, 2007 at 12:34 am
Yeah, sorry, it loads much faster now. It was loading slowly for a while, and it would randomly stick an IP address into the URL bar, and when I tried to navigate anywhere else it would yell at me. *shrugs* It works now, that’s all I know.

He would probably pack some pudding with him. Some candy, and maybe a book. Oh, and an air hole maker.
January 14th, 2007 at 12:17 pm
Wow. I have to say, nice comic as a whole. I only wanted to read a bit, but ended up reading from the start to this one in one sitting.
Reading this comic makes you feel smarter in some ways… and a bit awkward if anything in it has happened to you.
Anyways, keep up the good work. I will defiantly keep reading as you update.

Thanks CJ, I hope you didn’t share too many experiences with Biff. I guess you wouldn’t be here to type this if you did.
January 14th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
I wonder what Class that is, as In first class or whatever… Probably Biff Class…
February 16th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
“Hi, I’d like a round trip ticket to Sydney, Australia and I’d like you to send my luggage to Bombay.”
“Sir, we can’t do that.”
“Sure you can — you did it last time!”
February 23rd, 2007 at 11:59 pm
No matter how you travel, they’ll find a way to lose your luggage…
April 11th, 2007 at 7:23 am
Biff probably was well supplied with toast for the snail mail trip.
May 12th, 2007 at 9:07 am
Wasn’t there a guy who actually did this?
May 25th, 2007 at 3:59 pm
Ad in a French (?) airport: “We take your bags and send them in all directions.”
June 4th, 2007 at 9:55 pm
This reminds me of a man in Eastern Europe who mailed himself to his mother.
She was very sick and he didn’t have money for the train. He brought some water and sandwiches for his trip in the box and arrived safely the next day.
Funny how life and art imitate each other…

To have real fun with airline people, bring two bags, buy a ticket for, let’s say Honolulu. Then, tell them to send one bag to tokyo and the other to paris. If they refuse, tell them they did it before without being asked.
June 20th, 2007 at 9:47 pm
Imagine how bad it will be if we develop interstellar travel. “I’m sorry, sir, but it appears that we send your luggage to Alpha Centauri. Enjoy your stay on Mars.” You’d be seperated by thousands of light years…
July 14th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Pshhhhhh… just goes to show you that you can never trust the shipping company!
July 24th, 2007 at 7:08 pm
cant he just take an airplane?
October 14th, 2007 at 5:38 am
I’m surprised he was able to get on a plane at all carrying a boxcutter! =P
June 5th, 2008 at 12:10 pm
Actually, DemonRex, Alpha Centauri is “only” four light-years away. That still translates to around 30 trillion miles, though.
June 5th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
And Korota, maybe that’s why he had to be mailed instead of using a proper plane.
June 3rd, 2009 at 1:47 am
Wow…this is brilliant. XDD His face is priceless.
