#410 - Chilled
In college I was addicted to store brand concentrated frozen orange juice. I had a hand me down plastic pitcher that I used to mix it up in. It was pretty beat up and the lid leaked a little. I decided that since I had been using it everyday, it was time to splurge on a fancy new pitcher. I got a nice Rubbermaid brand container from the grocery store with a screw on lid that looked perfect for my needs. I brought it home and mixed up my first batch and left it in the refrigerator to chill. Later that night I went to get my first glass of juice but when I pulled the pitcher out of the fridge it slipped out of my hand, hit the kitchen floor and shattered. I pulled my old beat up pitcher out of the garbage and started washing it.

Wow Biff, I don’t know if you were trying to melt the frozen orange juice with nitrogen, but please don’t try using anti-freeze if that’s the case…

Ah brings back fun memories of messing with liquid Oxygen and dry ice in the military.

I work with liquid nitrogen on a daily basis. It’s a lot of fun to play with.
…And I agree with Arix

why did the pitcher break

I wonder if that would actually happen. Knowing that it’s Biff, it probably won’t.

I’d rather have liquid nitrogen than
frozen orange juice. FOJ = Vomitosis.

I’m using a pitcher my parents gave me, the one we always used for juice. It is still in good shape, ‘cept for the little melted bit where the lid fell near the ring of fire/death in my dishwasher. It didn’t hurt anything, but growing up it was always: Grab Juice Pitcher, shake, open, pour. But I have to make sure the lib is closed because sometimes me wife doesn’t always close it all the way.

I just got my Book of Biff. Can’t wait for the next installment.
Liquid Nitrogen on frozen orange juice? Now that just seems strange.

Nah, liquid nitrogen is still pretty warm by cryogenic standards.

beat-up stuff is the best, because you know
A) what it can take without breaking
B)You know exactly what happened to it to make it that way
C) you’ve used it so much that you don’t trust any other one of it’s kind.
