#466 - Disc
It’s strange, but I love the sound of circular saws. Not the actual sawing part but right after it stops. There’s a “zchwing” and a sort of metallic shimmer. I pause and listen for it each time.

Themed weeks are fun. This will end with the house going down in a internal flood at this rate.

Hah! It’s Furnature Maintenance and Care Week! Either that, or Powertool Clearing Week…
I like the sound of a big tablesaw spinning up… That’s the sound of lethal power!
March 18th, 2008 at 12:09 am
OTOH, it’s clearly NOT typinc accurately or speeling wel week for me…
March 18th, 2008 at 12:58 am
oh, overkill. how we love thee. not as much as power tools though.
i always wished that people would buy me power tools. instead of adverts for fathers day, giving an acetylene torch or rechargeable drill to your girlfriend for v-day or whatnot.
that couch doesn’t look like it was terribly comfortable in the first place, so no big loss…

Overkill, but you’ll make sure the stain never come back =D
March 18th, 2008 at 3:15 am
I wouldn’t be so sure… If one tiny spot of the original stain remains on the couch - it’s gonna come back. And stain the powersaw.

These captions make it sound like Biff has his own Bob-Vila-style show with tips for homeowners. Which is a thought at once hilarious and horrifying.
March 18th, 2008 at 7:05 am
It’s funny - the table saw, radial-arm saw, and the circular saw are all variants of the same thing yet sound so different.
March 18th, 2008 at 7:09 am
Overkill simply means you made sure.

Now the only problem is, what’s he going to use to fix the hole in the couch?
Time to bring back the Flame-thrower?
March 18th, 2008 at 8:50 am
Before reading the caption, I thought he was going to install a toilet in his couch

I hate True/False quizzes.
The answer is always
somewhere in the middle.
March 18th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
@ carrie: A couch with built-in toilet? I’d be all over that. Wouldn’t have to pause the game at all.
March 18th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
SEA, there is no such thing as ‘overkill.’ There’s only “Open Fire” and “Reload.”
Or, in Biff’s case, “Circular Saw” and “Flamethrower.”
March 18th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Oh man these themed weeks are fun.
Can’t say I enjoy the sound of any machines though - normally I find them horribly irritating. The sole exception is, and very strangley, clocks. Or even egg timers. Anything that ticks rhythmically. I can’t fall asleep with a computer humming, but give me a little clock ticking away and I’m off in a heartbeat. Odd, but, eh.
As for overkill, well.. I won’t comment.
March 18th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
i’m surprised he hasn’t done that to the rest of his house….what with all the accidents that tend to happen around him
March 18th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
For some reason, the sound of a drill scares me or something. I guess it’s not fear, but extreme.. disliking? It’s the most horrible sound I’ve heard. Just hearing it makes my body feel all twisty on the inside as if that very drill was about take a try at one of my bones.
Scary stuff.

@Taz: Bad experience with your dentist, I gather?

March 18th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
Wow, I know exactly what you mean. The few times I get to hear it, I make an effort to savor every moment… it’s like this weird, metallic song that the saw is trying to sing to me… almost like the saw loves me, and wants to express it.
Then, of course, I realize that I’m covered in sawdust and my ears are bleeding…
March 18th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
@PlutoBum: Well, he did attach saws to his vaccum cleaner, so maybe now we know the reasoning behind his logic! At least a little bit of Biff’s logic actually.
March 18th, 2008 at 6:37 pm
@Jackson - I wonder if anyone would advertise on that show.
March 18th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Stains can be removed in the blink of an eye!
So can fingers!
March 18th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
I hate loud noises, but I simply am in love with power tools. All I need are some good quality ear-plugs and a few choice ‘weapons’ and I can face off a zombie horde anyday.
As for over-kill, i feel that Germany had the right idea.
BLITZKRIEG!!! - Home Depot Style! (or whatever hardware store you prefer
)
March 18th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
@MaskedMan. Of course. “Circular Saw” and “Flamethrower.” XD
March 18th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
No no no. In the Biffiverse, Rule 37 clearly states “There is no overkill: there is only ‘fweeeeeeeeeKZZZZZZZZZZZZhang_NzzzzchwingYeowrnk(shimmer)’ and ‘I need to recharge’
March 19th, 2008 at 12:10 am
emm… what does biff do when he gets a stain on the shirt he’s wearing? On second thoughts, maybe I don’t want to know.
March 19th, 2008 at 7:27 am
Heh, there’s a perk called Over-Kill in Call of Duty 4; It’s when you carry two guns around at once. Maybe biff should try that with two circular saws. He’d probably get a heck of a lot done, faster!
March 19th, 2008 at 9:03 am
@insertnamehere - Change his shirt?
March 19th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
There is no “overkill”, only “open fire” and “time to reload”.
