We all have built in *food sensors* that tell us in advance when food is going bad, except for my dad. Anyways, if we suspect something is old, we look, smell, ask someone else, then confirm yes or no. If I'm not sure I just put it back in the fridge for someone else to deal with. The exception to the rule is cheese. Seeing as cheese is mold, any extra mold is just cut off and there is perfectly good cheese underneath. We’re really good about mold in this house.
