#516 – Viscosity
It can be hard to make a shake at the right consistency. If it’s going to have fruit in it you need to take the juice into account. If I’m on the go or otherwise multitasking I like to drink it with a straw. Sometimes when I’m just sitting sitting around I like them thick enough that you need to eat them with a spoon. Pineapple and raspberry are my current favorites.

WooHoo! First Post!
And on that note, yeah the thicker the better. Caramel and cherry are my favs.

I am currently the smoothie guy at the coffee shop I work at. It’s gotten to the point where people will take my suggestions over their first choices. They even tip well afterwards. Anyways, yeah, my two cents…

I personally like a good old chocolate or coffee milkshakes. I like them thick but not so think that I need a spoon.
Once you need a spoon it’s no longer a shake, but ice cream.

Job week?
I haven’t had a shake for I don’t know. But it really depends on the situation for how I like them. Banana’s my favourite flavour

Minimum Wage week!
There’s a song by They Might Be Giants called “Minimum Wage” and it’s just someone saying “MINIMUM WAAAAAGE! HEEYAH!” and then a whip crack and the rest is instrument. Really weird song, but then again that’s TMBG for you. I was thinking that could be the theme song for this week’s theme.

I saw this thing on Food Network (I think it was either on Unwapped or The Secret Life Of) where they went to some ice cream shop that specializes in making extremely-thick milkshakes. Their secret to making such a thick milkshake is that there is no milk in it, they just put a bunch of ice cream in a cup and then stir it up a bit. That feels like cheating on the definition of a milkshake.

Mmmmmmm, I love thick milkshakes. Thick enough to eat with a knife.

Milkshakes are amazing! Last summer I would go to B&R at least once a week and have one of my friends make me a milkshake. The best was if Robert was working, ’cause not only would he make it EXTRA thick, he’d give me his employee discount. Score!
I’m with brickface and Biff on this one. The thicker the better!
May 27th, 2008 at 5:33 am
Good lord, biff’s milkshake isn’t just extra thick, it’s also so sticky that it has suctioned itself onto the walls of the cup. Super sentient milkshake GO! It remionds me of Biff’s jiucebox, the one that had stronger lungs than he did. Wonder what it’s like to be eaten by a milkshake.

Biff could make coffee milkshakes. They would be the most powerful force known to man.

Yup. Joe Jobs.
I *like* super-thick shakes.

people would come ask me what flavors to get at The Maid Rite Diner and I don’t work there!!!

Biff drinks your MILKSHAKE! He drinks it up!
Sssluurrrrpppp!!!

I agree with everyone else: Job Week!
I like my shakes as thick as they can be while still being able to come up a straw. I’m with Metal Matt, as soon as you take out a spoon, it’s not a shake anymore. And always chocolate for me.

Milkshakes are one culinary delight that is hard to find here in Sweden. Sure, people sell things that they call milkshakes, but they are generally nowhere near as thick as they should be.

Gimme a strawberry shake any day of the week. No matter how thick or runny, I will gulp it right down

A mango shake and a cream soda go down just fine!

Biff’s milkshakes brings all the boys-
on second thought, no.

No, RFPT. Very, very no.

Oddly enough, there’s an ice cream shop down the street from my home called Ritter’s, and they have a shake that’s really a shake, but it’s thick enough that they actually serve it to you through the window upside-down. How’s that for confidence? =P
May 27th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
You go to Ritter’s too? My mom occasionally takes me there on hot Summer days and, yes, I will attest to the fact that they turn it upside-down in front of you before handing it to you.

I like my milkshakes to be Non-Newtonian.
May 28th, 2008 at 12:04 am
Mmmm. The good taste of quantum milk shakes
May 28th, 2008 at 4:51 am
Heh, I love a good shake. If I can help it, I’ll always get a shake over a soda whenever my family gets fast food. Really, I guess I just like that middle ground that shakes are, too liquidy to be ice cream, too thick to be a drink. Whenever I have ice cream, I’ll stir it around and let it melt until it’s thin, but still thick enough to need a spoon, and whenever I have root beer floats, I’ll always put in a lot of ice cream but little root beer so that it becomes thick enough to eat with a spoon, too.
Personal fave? Oreo Cookie can’t be beat.

Banana and chocolate milkshake FTW!
Oh, and you’ve written “stitting” twice.
June 5th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
Dairy Queen basically does the same thing Ritter’s does. I admire their confidence, but mostly I keep going there in the hopes that they might, just once, make it a little too thin.

My favourite is mango. I also love berry, but who cares?
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Ahh, milkshakes, one of the most glorious types of soquid that exists. I prefer Chocolate myself, despite the fact that it makes my stomach hurt. They should be thick enough that it’s difficult to suck it through a straw, but not so thick that it’s impossible. Red Robin (yummm) makes some of the greatest Shakes that exist.

Go to McDonalds, ask for a TRIPLE THICK milkshake, they do it special, I found that out by myself. there IS a difference.
April 23rd, 2010 at 3:36 pm
Wendy’s frosty. Nice and thick, and you don’t have to order it special.
My favorites are vanilla, cookie dough, and cookies and cream.
