#576 - Hynek

I’m not sure if I’m just really tired or what but… I think I’m actually going to try this. This means something. This is important.

Sounds like I’d have to try it some time O_o

    Also, CHOCOLATE WEEK!

  2. Falos

Someone is SO gonna do this, they already did bacon ice-cream at three panel soul

  3. Alex G

I’m not allowed to drink chocolate milk. Last time I did I caused some sort of disaster at Chernobyl. They covered up for me claiming it was a nuclear plant meltdown or something…

  4. SEA

Mmmm, i can imagine how good it taste =p

    Chocolate week, sweet! XD

  5. Kryhavok

Hmm doesn’t sound too bad. I mean you already mix milk into them to make them creamier, why not some chocolate too!

They put chocolate in the fanciest things!

    Biff has exquisite tastes!!!!

  6. Chris

Alright chocolate mashed potatoes is interesting, never thought of that before, but I can’t imagine it being too tasty.

  7. Eleglac

Somebody’s been watch “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” by the looks of it.

  8. Otakutaylor

I used to pour Chocolate milk on my mashed potatoes instead of gravy in middle school. Tastes a lot better to me.

  9. The Dustin

it’s the same mashed potatoes Devils Tower. You must have really liked that part of Close encounters of the third kind, because it keeps coming back to biff.

  10. studkick*ss

Reminds me of chocolate covered pretzels.

  11. Heatherface

Again with that reference. lol. Chocolate + potato actually sounds kind of gross, and I think my mother would kill me if I dumped cocoa powder into her mashed potatoes. Maybe into a little bowl!

  12. LazerWulf

@Heatherface: I don’t know. I used to go to Wendy’s and dip my French Fries in my Frosty. It was actually pretty good. A nice blend of sweet and salty.

  13. Poddy

@LazerWulf: Yep, done that myself, and I know a couple of friends who also enjoyed their Frosty Fries :) so… chocolate milk mashed potato might not be too bad ;)

  14. T3chW01f

Yeah I love dipping french fries in soft serve or frosties.

  15. RG

Well, I can be sure that he has some pretty unique tastes…

  16. Beekiller-Johanna from Finland

Hmm… I might try that sometime… When my mother isn’t around.
I usually eat my spenach pancakes with butter, because I don’t care for lingonberry jam but once I tried them with strawberry jam. I liked it, but my mother can’t stand the idea.

  17. trevor

The closest thing I have to this is that I ussualy put evrey drink in one cup at fast food restraunts.

  18. starseedjenny

    -gag-

I like fries in a shake but that’s different.

  19. Chris

    @starseedjenny - doesn’t sound very different.

  20. starseedjenny

    pbth

    is too

  21. MindoverMattR

I can imagine that texture-wise, it wouldn’t be great, just sort of lumpy chocolate. That’s why I like frosty fries. Distinct salty and sweet elements.

But chocolate added to other dishes is often very delicious, so I remain undecided. If anybody gets creative/stoned, let us know how chocopotatoes(TM) works out.

  22. Firestar27

You quoted UHF!!! It’s been a while since someone did that. It was much appreciated.
Also, I’ve got to try that food.

  23. Corey

    First comment!
the irony is thick.. Today I made chocolate oatmeal.

  24. Qow

    Chocolate week~

[Insert bad parody of Chocolate rain here].

    That is all.

  25. slashemp

The idea is reasonable, but beware the texture. Mashed potatoes are way different than french fries in ice cream. I’m lactose intolerant, and one time I made mashed potatoes with vanilla soy milk instead of lactose-free milk… It was very disgusting. It was like salty marshmallows except with the consistency of a warm slushie.

  26. Andore Mordre

Chocolate-covered bacon is the new “delicacy” in Minnesota right now.

  27. roy_vf1s

Hey Chris, once again you catch my geeky fiance and myself completely off guard with another Close Encounters joke! Love the comic, as always!

  28. Chris

@roy_vf1s - Glad to be of service. :)

  29. Metal Matt

    @LazerWulf:

I used to do that all the time! I had completely forgotten about it actually.

Hmm, maybe the chocolate mashed potatoes aren’t such a bad idea…

  30. hogan

OK, if I could unfairly declare potatoes Irish and chocolate Mayan, what’s next? Corned beef and corn?… actually that sounds pretty good. Analogy over: fusion cuisine wins!

  31. no name

Chocolate Week!!! I love chocolate. Especially chocolate fudge. :)

  32. Baltic

    Heh, good one.

Me and a friend found this site, and we spent the next few hours scanning through the archive, laughing and deciding which of Biff’s ideas we gotta try out. This would be one of those.
It can’t possibly be worse than highly alcoholic kefir. Yes, we’ve tried that.

  33. brickface

Wow, two of the greatest foods combined!

  34. Psymon

In the same vein as french fries and milk shake, I eat ice cream with baked lays. Weirds people out to hear me crunching my ice cream. Chocolate milk mashed potatoes doesn’t sound very appetizing, but I don’t declare any fusion “gross” before I get a chance to try it, because enough of them sound like they wouldn’t taste very good until you do try them.

  35. Andore Mordre

I’ve come up with one combination that sounds really gross but is actually really good…

Mixing Bacon with Mac n’ Cheese.

  36. Chris

@Andore Mordre - Who told you that sounded gross? Sounds tasty to me.

  37. Deadite

Mmmm… mac n cheese with bacon does sound good… on top of my chocopotatoes(tm - MindoverMattR)… maybe with some sour cream and chives to top it all off… getting hungry now…

  38. Mad Mule

bacon and mac and cheese is good try sausages instead of bacon tastes really good

  39. Sye216

    Mm-mmm, tasteh.
I might try that sometime, just out of curiosity.

  40. pyrokid

i have discovered starwberry sauce and mashed potatoes taste kinda like cheese cake……mmmmm cheese cake

  41. Wonder_Boy

My mom used to cut up hotdogs and put them in our mac n cheese. I guess that’s not exactly sausage but kinda close (I can’t believe I just compared hot dogs with sausage, what would my cooking instructor say.) I’m not sure I will try the chocopotatoes ™ mainly because I’m not a big chocolate milk guy but I’ve already done the frosty-fries and chipped-icecream. Very tasty.

  42. Wizard

Well, I’ve had macaroni and cheese with ham, so I suppose the bacon probably wouldn’t be too bad.

  43. Gato

This is my kind of week.

  44. starseedjenny

Some people like to just say “Ew that’s gross” because they haven’t seen it made before…freaking bizarre.

I WILL MAKE A TOP-RAMEN-NOODLE-WITH-PEPPERONI-CHEESE-AND-SOUR-CREAM MONSTROSITY IF I WANT TO.

  45. Mad Mule

and steak on the side just for fun

  46. Samsa

Just don’t put any savory style spices (garlic etc.) and it could be grand! Yes i said grand, b/c i wanted to that’s why.

  47. Geirskogul

Actually, starseedjenny, Ramen with pepperoni is quite good.

  48. arnwulf

    @starseedjenny

    O.O THAT SOUNDS DELICIOUS

  49. trevor

Chris:@Andore Mordre - Who told you that sounded gross? Sounds tasty to me.
    I agree with that statement!
Also, I like to put bacon on hotdogs.

  50. Kal

Wow. Yeah. I’m going to try that sometime. I’ll post pics.

Another interesting combanation: Go to Taco Bell, get some nachos and cinnamon twists, and dip the twists in the cheese. Delicous.

  51. steve-o

Have you ever tried kashi and ketchup? It’s awesome!

  52. Anne

Oh My God! I did this years ago when we ran out of white milk and only had chocolate. They were those instant potatoes. It doesn’t taste much different, the only thing that changes is the colour.

  53. Branwyn

Chocopotatoes (TM)!! Yum. I actually made these by accident once…grabbed the wrong milk carton. I decided to make the best of it and added 1/2 tsp of Dutch cocoa. They were quite tasty. :)

  54. Geaga

Was that a reference to 6×9 College?
