I sometimes work on Biff comics while falling asleep. I really shouldn’t do that. I frequently wake up with the memory of writing something hilarious… but no idea what it was. If we had dream recorders you would be reading a completely different set of comics this week.

September 2nd, 2008 at 12:22 am

September 2nd, 2008 at 12:33 am
A dream recorder…i don’t really wish to see what my dreams are about o_o;
September 2nd, 2008 at 12:41 am
It’s magic week, hurrah!
A dream recorder would be very nifty. x-x I sometimes have interesting dreams but never remember them.

I knew it was Magic Week as soon as I saw the names of the comics in the RSS feed.

So what does a field with money in it have to do with magic?
,,,
Rim shot? Anyone?

@Magic week: AWE–SOME!
Anydoodles, I’m enjoying this. Now we just need undead week.
September 2nd, 2008 at 1:19 am
Sometimes I wish I could relive my dreams, but somehow I doubt they’d be appropriate to share.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:55 am
Most of my innapropraite dreams take place in the same setting. Is that weird?
September 2nd, 2008 at 3:04 am
Now that’s something that’ll make a pretty interesting morning…
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:14 am
I thought you were going to say “Biff realizes he’s a light sleeper.”
September 2nd, 2008 at 5:39 am
@ Chuck: *groan* Well played, sir.
I started writing down every dream I could remember at the start of this year. I don’t know what I’ve been eating lately (quite possibly that giant cheese R2D2), but if it were a book, people would stop reading at this point, because it’s getting WEIRD.

@halfwing - Exactly.
September 2nd, 2008 at 5:59 am
haha, thats so related to me not being able to fall asleep last night because I had stayed up so late everyday all summer. Now I just woke up for the first day of school with something like 3 and a half hours of sleep…
God I’m tired. I wonder if floating in the air would have been more comfortable and helped me fall asleep…

The other night I had a dream that I was Peter Parker, except instead of having spider powers I could jump really high/sort of fly and I didn’t live with my aunt. My dad was a jerk. I spent most of the story “running” away from him.”
Last night I had a dream that um I was a ghost I think? I went to a sort of Atlantis to find some friends who had been there, but the people who lived there didn’t much like me. They quit complaining about me staying though when I found out one of the friends was sick and I rocked him back and forth until he fell asleep.
It was SWEET. I have some new story-fodder now.

You ever have inspiration in your dreams? Just last night, I dreamed up a new Ben Folds song, with like piano chords and “ba da da” harmonies and everything, and I’m not even a musician. But then I woke up, and I couldn’t even remember the melody or lyrics. Curse you, subconscious mind! Rarg.

Have Biff invent the dream recorder for you!
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:05 am
Burn the witch!
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:06 am
@ Trevor, 01:00: Identiyfy please. What field? Where?
@ Reg, 09:23: Been done. (If not before, then) by: the Wim Wenders Sci Fi Road Movie: UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD.
(also a cautionary tale)

Spoiler warning: Still looking for that “field with money?”
Read no further. Otherwise:
Oh, never mind.
“Spend all my coppers.” “Copperfield” got it.
Bddddrump. Pshhhhh.
September 2nd, 2008 at 10:16 am
Dream recorders would rock. Think of the money really spectacular dreamers could get selling access to their dreams! No more need to read horror stories, either, when we can rent some phycho’s night terrors!

@Diran-Kun, I’m actually a miss. A “chick Chuck,” if you will.
As for dreams, I once had a dream that I was teenage Tom Riddle, and I went with my Hogwarts class on a field trip to the White House where I put a spell on George W. Bush, peed on his statue, and stole his slippers.

Half-asleep random-nerve-firings are how I generally write all my comics and songs.
September 2nd, 2008 at 3:44 pm
so does biff not need his hover-socks anymore? I wonder if he will put them up on ebay…I’d love to get me some hover-socks

I have been wanting to start a web comic for a long time now. Every once in a while, I’ll have this dream about my web comic, but it’s so blurry that I can’t make out the pictures or the text. I wake up knowing that web comic is somewhere in my head, but it’s too out of focus for me to put it to page. Someday, web comic…some day….

They say if you write down whatever you can remember about your dream, as soon as you wake up, it helps to make recalling dreams easier. I’ve made a few logs of my dreams, I’ve gotten a few interesting ideas out of them.

MAGIC WEEK! I like watching magic… I’m really bad at performing it.
September 3rd, 2008 at 1:04 am
@ Chuck: I do apologise, please accept this Grammy.
September 3rd, 2008 at 2:47 am
hmm… dreams… not many overly interesting ones. except noticing that you can bend the laws of physics and pretty much everything else, simply by wondering “what if that were there?”
September 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 am
I write about fantasy. Problem is, it’s also got sf involved since that’s what I read too. So my magic has laws to it… Maybe the only laws to Biff’s magic are anything that make him uncomfortable
September 3rd, 2008 at 8:50 am
I think laws are very important to the practice of magic.
This does not mean that it is wrong to use magic to change known physical laws. That is an exemption known as suspension of disbelief.
Like the ‘Heisenberg Compensators.’

Last night i dreamed that the entire world was blown up and I was just floating in space, then the floating stopped and I fell for a long time, landing with a thump onto a concrete slab, dieing.
Dream recorders would be scary…
