#590 - Araneae
In my second year of college I moved into an apartment with two roommates. I had a little 13″ TV and when I first arrived I had it set up in my bedroom. I started coming home from class to find one of my roommates had fallen asleep on my bed while watching my TV. I decided that getting into a fight a week after moving in was a bad idea so I put the TV downstairs. Now I would come home and find my roommate asleep on the living room floor. Much better.

I’ve watched TV with spiders before. They make for good company.

Watching TV with spiders up north isn’t so bad… the big hairy ones we get down here in Texas can make things interesting - especially when they’re afraid of you and not your house cat.

Your former roommate sounds like a dick with personal space issues. I have a similar story though, from my sophomore year of college. The N64 had been out for a while and dropped in price so I finally broke down and bought one. My roommate had a TV which he kept in the shared living room. So I hooked the N64 up to the TV, and he basically monopolized it because it was his TV and so that somehow gave him the right to play my N64 all the time, and at one point he decided to move his TV into his bedroom - and he took my N64 with it. What a jerk. So I bought my own cheap TV and kept it and the N64 in my room, and he never got to play it again.

Hahaha, nice story Chris, and an excellent comic.
I guess I’m the Biff type, I’d let anything from spiders to roaches to
rats bunk with me if they wished, hehehe

Nice story :p
I don’t watch TV anymore, unless it’s a movie XD

Think that’s bad? Try watching TV with Spider-Man.

I share a two bedroom apartment with 3 other guys. One TV, one 360, one PS3, one controller that works for each system, and three of us who want to play video games at the same time.
I understand where you are coming from…

At least spider-man speaks legibly.
Batman on the other hand…

Now that’ll make for some interesting fights with the remote…
September 15th, 2008 at 5:14 am
@Micah: I now have this image in my head of Spiderman and the Green Goblin engaged in a gigantic battle across New York City trying to gain control of the remote.
@royvf1s: Hey, another Texan!
@Everyone: Do not be confused by my Biffatar. I am not nor have I ever been Chris Hallbeck. Move along, nothing to see here.

@Pieman: What about Piderman?
September 15th, 2008 at 7:29 am
@Pieman - It’s not Batman’s fault that you can’t understand him through all the awesome

Sometimes the simple things are all that matter. Moving the TV away from the bed, moving the alarm clock across the room, etc.

“Biff wonders when was the last time he dusted the remote.”
September 15th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Heck, I’d never allow a spider to dictate what TV shows to watch. I suggest a fist fight to settle it….
September 15th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
@Torg: Why am I The Green Goblin in your head?
September 15th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
I think because he associates the Green Goblin with Spiderman.
September 15th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
@Torg:
Don’t worry - Doc Oc will will snag the remote and win the fight, hands-down. Too many hands; he can play keep-away AND channel surf, simultaneously.
September 15th, 2008 at 7:29 pm
@ speearr: Spider = 8 legs + venomous(?) fangs, Biff = 2 hands + Weird Karma. Sorry, Biff; but I’m betting on the spider…

BUT WE WATCHED EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS YESTERDAY!
Don’t make me get the fly swatter out!
September 15th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
Ha that made me laugh.
Reminds me of when my older brother would hold the remote out of my reach.

I have no objection to spiders generally, but I don’t like sharing my house with them. Until they offer to contribute to the rent, I have a “destroy on sight” policy.

“Biff realizes the uses of spider-powers.”
