#666 – Novel
Apparently there are some people that can read a novel in one sitting. I just don’t have the capacity for that much data at once. I like reading around a chapter a day. It gives me something to think about during idle times throughout the day. I think this is where film versions usually come up short. It’s hard to have the same impact when a 2 week immersion is compressed down to around 2 hours.

Heh. I’m definitely one of those people who can read a whole book in a single sitting. I used to read a novel every day (average-sized novel in 4 to 6 hours) and nowadays, when I read fanfiction, I tend to just allocate 6 hours and read however many stories I need to fill it.

I’m slightly obsessive, so I not only read novels in one sitting, but also make a good effort at reading through webcomic archives in one sitting, and fanfiction. What’s worse is when I get a series of novels–I want to read them all at once, but not all the books are out yet.

I have This problem of reading anything interesting that i come across including:
-pet litter/newspaper
-magesine being read by someone i don’t know
-magesine being read by someone i do know
-ads/waivers/posts attatched to webcomics
I have been repeatedly diagnosed with OCRD (Obsessive Compulsive Reading Disorder) And have my 90-day blue chip from readers anonymous

I’m another “all-in-one-sitting” kinda guy. Novels, or tech manuals, or whatever – It all goes down in one big bite.
Biff may find his reading habits tend to limited his reading material choices on any given day. Worse, it may lead to misunderstandings with various uniformed sorts.

I read till my eyes hurt then stop. (though i would say i did more reading in tv tropes than real life books XD)

I used to read 1-3 books a day, now the best I can manage is 1-2 a week.

Hmmm. I read slowly, and multiple books at once. Might have something to do with the fact that I’m reading personal growth books mostly now. Yep, 2 spiritual, 2 financial, and one novel at the moment… With my family and workload, I probably finish 2-3 a month though.
I think there are several reasons a book is better than a movie. They cut a lot out to fit the movie into an ‘acceptable’ length; you get more of the thinking and background in a book; and my imagination still beats out about any CGI out there!

I remember when I came down with bronchitis. I missed a week of school and managed to read the entire Harry Potter series in 5 days. One has an amazing amount of time when one is sick.

I find it nearly impossible to NOT finish a book in one sitting. I end up immersing myself into it so much that it takes a great force of will to snap myself out of it – and then get back into it some time later.

Yeah, but people enjoy pointing it out. It’s kind of like number 1337 or 314 being pointed out. Some comic writers take advantage of the occurrence of those numbers, and others don’t. Also, this is the Internet, so people are bound to bring up stuff even if it isn’t that much of a big deal. No need to get flustered about it. It’s not like they’re insulting you.

I’ve done the ‘novel in one sitting’ thing plenty of times, but recently its more ‘novel in one month’
Sometimes I’ll read 8 books in a week (while walking, eating, etc) and sometimes i’ll read a book in 8 weeks, and sometimes I’ll have 8 on the go, but that’s kinda dumb and doesn’t happen so often any more.

And also I’m one of those people who’ll read anything. Ingredient lists, newspaper laid down to protect the table during art lessons, posters, small print etc. If I eat something I’ll probably be reading the packaging. At least three times.

I read the last Harry Potter book in a day. O.O Granted, I took about 8 hours off the sleep, but the rest of the 24 hour period I spent reading. It wasn’t that it was good or anything. I jsut knew the internet would be an unsafe place until I finished it, and I need my internet. Usually if I finish a book in one sitting it’s something short like The Giver or the Alchemist.

Back when we were still only dating,I actually watched my wife read a book, and she finished it before I got bored. It was not a thick book, but it was still two or three hours.

the only novel I read in one sitting what the Half-Blood Prince… six hours…
if it weren’t for nightfall, travelling from the city where I bought the book to the town I was staying at and the fact that I shared my room, I would’ve gotten through the Deathly Hollows in one sitting as well

Having read “The promise of the Wich King” in four hours, I feel like I should enjoy books longer. I got this “now what” feeling after reading it so fast. So basicly I think Biff does it quite better, that way the book lasts longer and you can enjoy it more.
And no, I’m not pissed about the fact people start pointing out number 666. I just point out myself it isn’t that big deal, so I’m just doing pointing of my own, little bit different way… And then I think I shouldn’t. Is that normal?

I’m one of those people; I read each of the Harry Potter novels the day they were released.
I always reread things to get more meaning from them though. At last count I read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 30 times.

I try to do a book a day and I usually succeed; it’s in my genes to be a fast reader. XD I just love reading, I don’t know why. I blame my reading tutor from second grade. XD

i read 300 or more page books in a day, or even a sitting, i can read about a page a minute of a large book with small print, and those dnd forgotten realms novels i love last about 5to 8 hours

I’ve always loved reading. If I get a really good book I find myself completely unable to put it down until I’ve finished. It usually takes several hours for all the jumbling thoughts to slow down and I actually figure out what I just read.
