Chicago Comic-Con
The last Chicago Comic-Con I went to was in 1989. In the past 20 years it has moved down the road a mile or so and expanded into a much larger space.
I shared a table with David Willis of Shortpacked!

Unfortunately David didn’t bring any food on the first day and was forced to eat his Transformers.

The large display prints worked well to catch people’s attention that had never seen Biff before. Too bad I forgot them at the show.

David would happily draw anything you wanted. As long as you gave him money.

This guy was there each day working on a giant chalk mural of the cover of the show program.

When I was a kid, comic shows were pretty much just aisles of this.

Who you gonna call?

Young Jedi in training.

My view of the other tables in artist alley off to my left.

Some of David’s old friends came to visit.

No shirt, no shoes, no pants, no service.
We had a great time at the show. Saturday was the best crowd, it felt like we saw more people on Saturday than the other days combined. Thanks to everyone that came by to say hello and buy some books. See you next show!

I don’t know whether I admire Naked WolverMegamanTechnoCupGuy or fear him.

Naked guy = Win.
I wish I was there. Thank you for making me suddenly regret missing Biff! D:

I’m disappointed. I thought you’d look a lot more like Biff. Maybe you should think about growing your eyebrows out.

At least the last guy had a nice body. I just got back from Anime Iowa, where some of the cosplayers REALLY should have chosen a less revealing outfit. Still, it was an amazing con overall. Chris! You should visit next year! I would buy a book if you did!

@deadlincoln – I’ll be in Moline IL on Saturday… about an hour’s drive from where Anime Iowa was.

what is that even a cosplay of?
because I doubt it is of one specific character and he just felt like being naked.

Awesome.
I don’t suppose you’ll be at the London Expo in October? (long shot but hey)

@Eleanor – Sorry, no. I think I’m done for the year.

@Chris if don’t have the means to ever make it to a Comic-con and can’t buy online is there any other way of snagging some copies of the books?
December 18th, 2009 at 5:27 am
@Matt Lee – Sure, send me an email with what you want and I’ll give you a total and address to mail a check.

That is without a doubt the geekiest cosplay costume I’ve ever seen.
