I found that a bit weird, because when I first read it as a kid, I thought that Jon’s sweater still had a whole ball of yarn (that looked like spaghetti) attached to it.

Garfield destroyed Jon’s whole outfit this way, even though the top and bottom were in separate pieces. Jon just jogged far enough. And he was not amused.
