National differences

I thought this would be a fun little topic. As you should all well know, we don't all live in the United States of America. Or even North America for that fact. So I thought we could talk about differences in cultures.

I've been meaning to ask this for some time now. What is the difference between England, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom. It is really bugging me.

England is one part of the land mass that makes up Great Britain (mostly England, Scotland and Wales, but I think there might be other parts to it as well. I didn't take Geography, so please correct me if I'm mistaken ).
The United Kingdom is the collective name given to Great Britan, Northern Island, and many small countries (such as the Isle of Wight).

Great Britain: England, Wales, Scotland.
United Kingdom: England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland.
British Isles: England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland.

The small islands are part of the main countries; they aren't their own countries.
