I've just got normal scissors. They're useful for keeping the upper bush maintained, but what I'm more concerned about are the hairs on the testicular sack and on the taint. Whenever I go to trim those, I'm worried I'm going to cut myself in a place where I don't particularly want to be cut.

I just use a regular old pair of clippers. Just wash yourself beforehand, then clean up the clippers afterwords and no worries. Preferably you'd want a pair of clippers nobody else uses for anything else, though. I don't trim too often as it tends to make myself really itchy, and have only shaved a few times. Shaving slurps. Looks nice, but it feels prickly unless you do it often enough that the hair grows in more soft.
Also, there's nothing more scary than your boyfriend offering to clip your bush after a bottle of wine.

There really shouldn't be hair on the shaft itself, even right at the base should be next to hair free. If there's notable hair on the shaft, there may be an issue... |

Well I do NOW.
There was a scene in Torchwood where this crazy possessed lady sexed up a young dude in the restroom of a nightclub. I like how she pulled him in the door and the chicks doing their makeup looked at each other and then walked out, kind of like, 'Damn, I didn't get to finish my mascara'. Yet another reason why I would not care to go to nightclubs.
