Just watched Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. Got a lot of female nudity, but doesn't bother with any male genitalia. Seems like this is because in some way women are still objects, so it's okay to show a lot of boob, which is all right because every one likes those, but it seemed to me(although there were two songs in that movie, one heavily choreographed, about penis) that it was rather underrated in the film.
I get less fascinated by boobs because I have them, so when I see other peoples' it's like okay, sure. But when I saw The Watchmen finally every time Dr. Manhattan appeared everyone in the room either said 'penis' or had their eye drawn to said penis, even the dudes. It was a novelty, even. 'Cause isn't it awfully nice to have a penis?

It's probably because the male genitalia is more comparable to the female's lower genitals than the boobs. Boobs were (and still are to some extent) much less of a taboo subject than the reproductive organs, meaning that Universal probably wouldn't have been willing to release it.

That makes sense, I suppose. That was a very funny movie, completely regardless of any taboo subjects or 'British sensibilities'. It surprised me with its content to some extent, but it was a pleasant supplies. Now to go watch all the other Monty Python films...

I've seen most of Flying Circus, as well as And Now For Something Completely Different, but I'd never seen the Meaning of Life. I haven't watched The Holy Grail yet, I suppose I could download it someplace but I'm lazy. Maybe they have it on Netflix.
