Did anyone see Meet the Robinsons in 3-D? That was the first time I saw one of the new fangled digital 3-D movies. I think the effect was pretty impressive. There was an old donald duck short cartoon in 3-D that they played right before the film and that gave me a really bad headache. It will be interesting to see the first live action film created with this technology.

Superman used that technology in the Imax version. It was pretty cool, but only certain scenes were actually 3D. Last saturday, however, I saw Creature From the Black Lagoon in old-fashioned 3D. I didn't even know they could do that to black and white movies...

I haven't seen much 3D stuff.  The last time I saw anything was at Cadbury World (basically the biggest chocolate factory for Cadbury - the leading brand of chocolate here in the UK - which has got lots of stuff for visitors to see).  They had this movie on a screen behind a barrier that when you wore the 3D glasses gave the impression of this huge cartooney crane thing as part of a piece of machinary with a face on it that explained to passers by how the chocolate is made and all that jazz.  It was pretty impressive actually, the crane really did seem to be moving around in the area behind the barrier.

Meet the Robinsons must have been pretty awesome in 3D.  The futuristic locations (both the good and bad ones) were impressive enough in "2D", let alone 3D.  Of course whenever I see anything 3D I never get the full effect because I'm too tempted to keep switching my glasses on and off to check out how it "really" looks on the screen and stuff.

I saw "T2 in 3D" at universal studios.  It was very well done and i keps sinking back into my seat when stuff looked like it was coming close to my face.  At one point one of the robots exploded and the camera looked down from above and showed his head soaring up toward you.  All i could think was "please don't explode and in from my face, please don't explode and in from my face, please don't explode and in from my face..."

Also saw a Muppet movie in 3D at Disney in Florida.  I can't remember much of it but i remember one of the smaller muppets popping off the screen and hopping around yelling "i'm bouncing on people's heeeeads, i'm bouncing on peoples heeeeads!"

Looked great from my seat but i bet it was odd for the people in the front row.

It's Dreamworks doing all 3-D CGI movies. I read about it on wikipedia...like everything else.

Well the last 2 Disney computer animated movies were in 3-D. Now that Pixar is a part of Disney there's probably a good chance that we'll get a 3-D Pixar film eventually.

I hope not. 3-D often feels like a cheap gimick.

Well it didn't in Meet the Robinsons. Have you seen one of the new digital 3-D movies? I think Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons are the only ones so far.

I haven't seen either in theaters. It doesn't seem like much I'd be into but if you say they're good, I might check out the next one.

Yeah, I saw it too. There were like 2 scenes that looked good in 3-D.

I'm too lazy to think of a good word to put here., seen alot of them CGI movies, but only Shrek was good. (was the incredibles dreamworks, can';t remember...) I also saw Shrek 3-D. That was good.

I still remember pixar back in the days of Toy Story. That was a good movie. Finding Nemo was good too. My Nephews a big fan of Cars.

Yes, we have Cadbury here in Canada as well. I've seen the Easter movie with the Cadbury bunny. That was messed up.

Yeah, but it's fun to watch and see what they do with it.

According to Wikipedia the first live action film using this technology is a U2 concert film to be released later this year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_D_Cinema

Even though I'm not a U2 fan I'm tempted to go see it just out of curiosity.
