Ugh, I really hate this whole anime categorisation.  Anime is way too different and diverse to group it all together.  It's an art style, not a genre of interest.  Hell, even the art styles vary greatly.  I WOULD have voted anime, but it's untrue, anime is not the best thing ever to me.  There are certain animes I like, and certain ones I hate.  For example, two animes considered "classics", Azumanga Daioh and Akira.  I love Azumanga, hate Akira.  The only way you could really be an anime fan is if you were a fan of the manga/anime art style in general, or if you were a fan of at least like, 90% of every anime in existence.  When most "anime fans" don't watch anything other than Naruto, Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist.

So I voted games.  They help me escape from the world when I'm stressed.

I agree with JezMM. I like some anime, but not all.
Video games and online comics, however, are something I can usually enjoy any variety of.

Cool! 206 Episodes of Escape for $6, 772 episodes of Lum & Abner for $9, 288 episodes of Amos & Andy for $7 - can't beat that. Does your uncle put together the CD's himself?

My grandfather has a huge collection of radio tapes, he got me interested, but they're a pain to convert to CD's...

I shall continue the trend of Anime talk by saying the art style is unique but I hate the stories. Often they sporaticly switch between seriousness and over the top exageration. Also, the heroes are over powered and it really takes it away from realism. I perfer a hero who is down to earth and real.

They have animes with heros and tones of all shapes and sizes, from girly dramas to detective stories to demi-god action splashes. I'm not a huge anime/manga fan, but I have enough friends who are to be familiar with it. You just have to look past Toonami...

Sad

Hehe, you a fan?  X3  I found the storyline way too confusing and the artwork, while excellently animated, especially for it's time, was a very dark and dull style which didn't suit my personal tastes.

I'm more into the "cuter" anime style (though like a mixture of both serious and silly plotlines).

Yeah I was reading the Akira manga when the movie was released. I got an imported japanese language VHS copy and watched it a hundred times. At the time (1989) it was the most Bifftastic animated film I had ever seen. I think I'll go pop in my DVD tonight. Smiley

I personally believe music is the best thing ever.

I just have a question to the girls on this forum (besides bern). Why do almost all girls listen to gino beats? I mean, the lyrics stink, theres no skill involved, and it gets repeptitive after 2 minutes...

Ah. Apparently, that's good when combined with small sips of Red Bull for pulling an all-nighter. Can't stand the stuff, personally (techno, not Red Bull).

The only reason I listen to techno is because my brother is trying to blow out my moms sound system.

Well as you get older techno loses it's coolness. You reach the point where you look around and say what am I doing here and why am I dressed like this. I listened to techno for maybe 3 minutes before I moved on to something else.

Right now I am listening to Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen. They are from New Orleans and combine jazz, Cajun and harmony into something awesome.
